Mold/ Microbial Testing; Assessments and Clearances

Some of our scientific staff have been conducting mold / microbial testing, assessments and clearances since 2004 soon after the four hurricanes: Charley, Ivan, Frances and Jeanne struck Florida that generated widespread destruction. The storms caused extensive physical damage to structures including; houses, apartments, condos, businesses, schools and hospitals and because the storms generated heavy rains and caused wide spread power outages, the result was perfect conditions for mold to flourish in buildings throughout Florida and other southeast states.

Assessments and clearances include both visual inspections and analytical testing conducted to help evaluate indoor air quality. Samples taken are used to detect the presence and concentration of organisms and particulates including but not limited to; mold/ fungi, viruses, bacteria, dust mites, allergens and asbestos. Sampling accessories include microscope slides, Tedlar bags, Summa canisters, Air-O-Cell Cassettes, Mold Snap Cassettes, and Agar plates. Sampling equipment includes; hand held meters, mobile gas monitors, Gillian 5000 pumps, Zefon Bio-Pumps and Diaphragm pumps. We send samples collected to certified mold testing laboratories using their respective chain of custody forms.

We work under contract for companies with state and/or national licenses and insurances. Some staff have accumulated certificates from organizations including the Indoor Air Quality Association IAQA which qualifies them to perform this type of work.
